Bottle Refusal Support

When Your Baby Won't Take a Bottle

Bottle refusal can feel frustrating, emotional, and overwhelming, especially when you're preparing to return to work or introduce another caregiver.

The good news is that bottle refusal can be manageable if we understand why your baby is struggling.

During your consultation, we'll evaluate your baby's feeding history, temperament, routines, developmental stage, and current feeding patterns before creating a personalized strategy.

We'll discuss:

  • Possible causes of bottle refusal

  • Timing and routines

  • Bottle and nipple options

  • Feeding positions

  • Caregiver techniques

  • Gradual transition strategies

  • Maintaining breastfeeding while introducing bottles

Our goal is to reduce stress, support your baby, and help your family find a solution that works

In-Person Bottle Refusal Consult | 2 hours — $300

Insurance + Payment

Flowstate is in network with Aetna and UnitedHealthcare. Many plans cover multiple visits, though coverage varies by plan and service. If you’re unsure whether your consultation is covered, we’re happy to help check your benefits before you book.

For out-of-network visits, payment is due at the time of your consultation. We accept cash, check, credit card, debit card, Venmo, and Zelle. We’ll provide documentation you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Credit, debit, and FSA card payments incur the card processor’s transaction fee.

You can also contact your insurer directly to ask about coverage. The National Women’s Law Center’s Breastfeeding Toolkit includes a sample script on page 8.
